Classic Plantbased Poutine

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup all purpose or whole wheat flour
  • 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp Marmite, (can be substituted with Miso paste)
  • Dash Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 package Frozen Fries
  • 1 package Daiya Mozzarella Style Shreds

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a sauce pan over medium-high heat. Once oil is warmed whisk in the flour. Whisk constantly for about 1 minute until the flour begins to cook.

Add the nutritional yeast and continue to whisk for one more minute.

Add ½ cup of the broth and whisk into the flour mixture so that it is smooth and there are no lumps.

Add the remaining broth, 1 tsp Marmite and freshly ground black pepper.

Simmer the gravy, whisking constantly, until it begins to thicken and reaches your desired consistency.

Cook fries as per package instructions.

nce fries have cooked plate and top with Daiya Shreds. Pour gravy on top and serve hot!
