Our 3-part blog series on Ayurveda doshas continues with a look at Kapha. Earlier we profiled Vata and Pitta.


Which of the elements relate to Kapha? Earth and Water are core to this dosha. Kapha translates as “that which sticks,” and this energy principle provides the body with form and structure. Light, warming foods are recommended to offset the possibility of heaviness or rigidity. Consider some of the plant-based options shown here such as salad greens, sprouts and citrus.
